Join our seminar on circular economy opportunities in the UK!
The United Kingdom is committed to moving towards a more circular economy and many regions and sectors are starting to take action. For example, environmental organisation Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) has forecasted that a circular economy could bolster the UK economy by £75 billion. On a local level several councils have published circular economy routemaps like London, West Midlands and Cardiff. These routemaps focus on multiple sectors and underline financial, social and environmental benefits. The latest trade figures by Statistics Netherlands show that the UK is the third largest export destination for domestically produced goods. Statistics Netherlands also found that exports of manufactured goods grew by a third while exports of machinery and equipment rose by three quarters. Additional opportunities for exporting Dutch manufacturing companies can for example be found in the UK’s circular economy.

To provide an overview of the circular economy opportunity in the UK, the Dutch Embassy in London and the Netherlands Enteprise Agency commissioned a market report to highlight opportunities for British-Dutch collaboration. It provides a high-level overview for three key sectors: construction, manufacturing and waste management. Each sector includes case study references and future insights while key activity in different regions in the UK is mapped. Finally, it provides top tips for doing business in the UK based on interviews with Dutch companies who have been successfully active in the UK. The market report will be presented on 23rd June and you can attend in-person. A copy of the report will be provided.
